The 2nd Hong Kong Global Young Printmaking Exhibition & The "Huang Yongyu" Young Printmaking Artists Incubation Programme Annual Exhibition officially opens themed “Fusion of Arts, Myriad Forms”. The exhibition inherits reverence for Mr. Huang Yongyu and builds an open platform for young printmaking creators to display works and exchange ideas.
It brings together 116 print artists from Hong Kong, Mainland China, the United Kingdom and other regions, among whom are 9 creators from Xinjiang. As an artistic medium demanding perseverance and candid expression, printmaking allows creators to present the world as they see it. Their works delve deep into traditional techniques and reflect on the digital age, centering on native landscapes and identity recognition to truthfully record young creators’ thoughts and feelings. Diverse perspectives and creative styles converge here to embody the core philosophies: Diversity and Integration, Youth Growth, Public Engagement, and Harmony in Difference.
Constructing an open and shared artistic venue, the exhibition provides free public guided tours and pre-bookable printmaking workshops throughout its run to bring the public closer to printmaking art, enabling art to be felt rather than merely admired from afar. More than a milestone marking young creators’ artistic progress, this exhibition serves as a starting point for artists to communicate with the wider world, encouraging emerging creators to stay true to themselves and keep exploring.
