Hong Kong New Music Ensemble is proud to host Interplay of Sound, a special event that explores the meeting point of contemporary classical music, game mechanics, and improvisation at HKADC SHOWCASE. This event invites audiences to experience music not just as listeners, but as active participants in a playful, interactive environment.
 

Interplay of Sound offers an innovative concert experience that challenges conventional musical boundaries. By incorporating elements of play and game mechanics into contemporary classical music, the programme invites audiences to explore how composers use game theory, spontaneity, and improvisation to expand the possibilities of performance. Among the featured works is a brand new work by Linus Fung, commissioned by Hong Kong New Music Limited.
 

The event is split into two sessions on the same day:

Lecture-demonstration (5:00 PM): An accessible, guided introduction to the concepts and techniques behind the music, perfect for first-time listeners and students.

Concert (8:00 PM): A full-length performance featuring all four programme works, showcasing the full dynamic range of game-inspired contemporary music.
